Éric Antoine [b.1974], is a French artist who resides and works in the wooded mountains of the north-eastern part of France.
Antoines silvery images are made on glass plates using the old photographic prosess wet plate collodion mounted into boxlike handmade frames with a black background, and a protective glass on top. This process turns them into precious objects

Antoine’s work is driven by the darker realities of life. The artist juxtaposes this reality to the beauty found in his subjects. The viewer lingers at the aesthetic beauty only to find a gateway into deeper meanings.
The process and aesthetics are constant pillars in Antoines work, but it has grown more abstract over the years as objects becomes characters for the expressed feelings and stories that each plate encapsulates. His series of work are continuous and in constant evolvement.
